Welcome to CJM Coaching
Modern life can be overwhelming. Relationships, career, children, friends, parents and hobbies are just some of the demands that compete for time and attention. A constant juggling act when it feels like nothing really gets your proper attention. You try and be all things to all people and feel like you’re failing at everything. Your needs, wants and dreams get lost in tending to everyone else’s.
We live with a comfort and convenience that our ancestors could not have dreamed of. Yet stress, burnout, unhappiness, lack of purpose, depression and loneliness are exponentially increasing in our society. There is an increasing narrative around ‘mental health’ but all too often it is followed by a focus on mental frailty. We will all experience times when life feels overwhelming, no one can avoid it. I believe we are more resilient and adaptive than modern narrative gives us credit but also know that in difficult times it can be helpful to broaden your support system. As the old saying goes, a problem shared is a problem halved.
Sometimes we need to pause and evaluate where we are, look at all the options and then reset. But often the people closest to us don’t have the impartiality to help us with our thought process or the choices we have to make. They may even be part of the problem. And that’s where I come in. I can help you regain perspective, work through current challenges and come up with a plan for change.
Perhaps one dimension dominates your world and you’d like to rebalance. Or maybe the absence of some of those elements is leaving you a little adrift and lost, wondering what your purpose is and lacking direction. Asking yourself Is this it? what next?
As a coach I use the combination of my formal training and varied life experiences:
- to help clients recover from personal or career challenges and achieve more balanced and fulfilling lives.
- To help clients gain insight and build resources in order to avoid crisis in the first places by designing the life they want and moving towards that goal.
